Primary Interactions – MIMO

Primary Interactions illustrates the artist’s preliminary experiences as an immigrant in New York and the resulting observations of social, political, and cultural polarities tied to identity and privilege. First shown as an exhibition curated by Clocktower Productions at Pioneer Works, the work includes a statement by the artist’s friend, Agustin Faundez, who generously shared his personal story related to the immigrant experience in the U.S.

Multiple Input Multiple Output refers to a practical technique for sending and receiving more than one data signal simultaneously over the same channel. The MIMO series activates the unique possibilities and process of the Pioneer Works GR3750 Risograph machine with small runs of pamphlets that are hand assembled by the authors.
